but Origin is asking for a product key! What a complete mess. I have also tried installing the game through the EA app, then launching it from Origin. ![]() Update: I contacted support, and they just sent me a useless response linking me to a guide on how to clear cache, which of course did absolutely nothing for either issue as it's completely unrelated. Why does EA have two launchers, and why are both of them broken, I just want to play Mass Effect darn it! This account has EA Play (through Xbox Game Pass). Origin page saying I need to buy EA Play, even though I already have EA Play Origin page saying Mass Effect is included with EA Play Click to get the game, tells me I need to buy EA Play (third image). Search for Mass Effect (which pulls up just about every other mass effect thing in the search before the game itself), says it's included with EA Play, as it should (second image). Install Origin and log in with that account. ![]() I check the account details for my EA account linked with my Xbox account - says I have EA play, as it should (first image). Not sure why EA has two desktop apps, but ok. I search some more and find people recommending using the Origin app for Mass Effect. I've searched around and this is a pretty common problem, I've tried all the solutions to this I could find and it still doesn't run. Mass Effect, however, will not run if downloaded through the EA app. ![]() I've played The Sims 3 through EA Play with Xbox Games Pass from the EA app, works well enough. The games you can play through EA Play are shown in the Xbox app, but if you want to download and play them it makes you install the EA app.
